1939 Ohio State Buckeyes football team
The 1939 Ohio State Buckeyes football team represented the Ohio State University in the college football season of 1939-1940. The Buckeyes compiled a 6–2 record and outscored foes 189-64. Coach Francis Schmidt fell to hated Michigan for a second straight time, but won a Big Ten title for the second time in his head coaching tenure at Ohio State. He was released as coach of Ohio State a year later.
